There’s something about bridges – the shape of the arches; the reflections in the water; the history. Then there’s all the ways we talk about them as metaphors – burning our bridges; crossing bridges; water under the bridge; a bridge too far, bridging the gap – to name just a few!
This latest series of paintings, called ‘A walk in the park‘, is inspired by the bridges I pass as I walk my dog every day along the river near my home.

In some paintings in this series, a bridge shape is quite clear and in others, it’s a more subtle reference.
